Fiber and Paper Arts Club
Dyeing with Turmeric
The MSU FiberPaperArt Club fosters a community-based learning environment in fiber and paper arts. Thus far, the club has offered instruction in needle arts, felting, calligraphy, letterpress, bookbinding, papermaking, plant dyes, embroidery, hand and machine sewing, and quilting. It is the aim of the club to develop craft while encouraging discussion of contemporary issues in the field of fiber and paper arts.

In 2013-14, the club video conferenced with Icelandic botanist, Gudrun Bjarnadottir, about indigenous plants and their application in the dyeing process, conducted a three-part workshop on book arts, donated mini-art quilts to the Starkville Arts Association scholarship auction, and hosted a Nashville printmaker.
